Tour Plan
When you land in Sri Lanka, your driver will be there to pick you up and transport you to Sigiriya. Spend a relaxed day at the hotel relaxing.
Discover one of the more well-preserved historical Ceylonese ruins, Polonnaruwa, which functioned as Sri Lanka’s medieval capital between the 11th and the 13th century A.D. and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On a walking tour of a historic Ceylonese ruin, see Lankathilaka, Thuparamaya, the Royal Palace, Rankoth Vehera, and Gal Viharaya.
After breakfast, travel to Nuwara Eliya. On the way there, stop by the Sri Baktha Hanuman Temple in Ramboda. On top of these Ramboda hills, Hanuman was searching for Sitadevi, and the Sri Lankan Chinmaya mission built a temple with Hanuman as the presiding deity. On each full moon day, special poojas are attended by thousands of devotees.
Kandy, the capital of the highlands, will be your destination today. It is encircled by rich flora and the massive Mahaweli River. People’s romantic images of a lost hill kingdom, a lake, tea plantations, and a well-known temple are evoked when they hear the name Kandy. It is renowned for being the seat of Buddhism and the final kingdom of the Sinhalese.
Continue your trip to the charming hamlet of Ella. This little community is nestled in a valley with a clear view of the Ella Gap and is surrounded by rugged terrain that is perfect for trekking. Take some time to admire the magnificent Ravana Ella waterfalls and the Demodara Nine Arch Bridge.
Leave the Ella hills and make your way to the Yala woodlands. Yala National Park, one of Sri Lanka’s major tourist sites, is home to the elusive leopard and one of the world’s highest populations of leopards. Two more Sri Lanka’s Big Five animals, the Asian elephant and sloth bear, may be viewed. Hopefully, a nighttime jeep safari accompanied by a naturalist guide will enable you to observe all of these animals in addition to more.
We arrived at Mirissa in the morning after the safari was over. Mirissa is one of the most popular beach towns in southern Sri Lanka for a good reason. Beautiful beaches in Sri Lanka, great surfing waves, and waterways teeming with marine life—from tiny turtles to enormous blue whales—are all present nearby. Enjoy resting in your hammock, eating delicious food from local restaurants, and riding a motorbike during the day. To truly experience Mirissa’s laid-back atmosphere and all of its top attractions, four days are the ideal amount of time.
Explore the Galle fort in the late afternoon. Galle is a treasure. It’s fun to take a stroll around this ancient city, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With magnificent Dutch colonial buildings, antique mosques and churches, huge homes, and museums, it is an ever-exotic old commercial harbor.
Because all good things must come to an end, your chauffeur guide will take you securely to the international airport in time for your return flight.
